La Petite Maison's Drink – A Recipe

WThis is a simplified take on a drink found on the seasonal cocktail list. It's a batch prepared mix which is packed full of flavours associated with holiday season, which makes it excellent for a festive gathering. Reserve the remaining syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, desserts, or to make additional servings of bikinis.

Bikini Recipe

Serves 10 people

To make the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)

300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g caster sugar

Ingredients for the Premix (makes 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Directions

To prepare the Syrup: Combine the listed components into a pot, bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve. After that, remove from the stove and let it to reach room temperature entirely. Decant into a sealable bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the refrigerator, where it will keep for about one month.

For the Cocktail Base: Mix the specified spirits and syrup into a sizeable container, let it rest for one hour, then filter it preferably using cheesecloth, making it perfectly clear.

When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of the batch mix into a mixing glass containing ice, gently stirring lightly for one minute to chill. Filter into a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, decorate with some cranberries adding the final touch using a brief mist of mandarin oil over the top.
